The John Jay Wolves''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Fox Lane by a score of 24-21. John Jay was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fox Lane apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2018.
Declan Connors had a dynamite game for Fox Lane, rushing for 231 yards and two touchdowns. Connors really tore up the turf during one magnificent 87-yard run. Theo Friedman made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
John Jay's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Fox Lane, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. John Jay will take on Clarkstown North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clarkstown North will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 315th, while John Jay is ranked 157th). As for Fox Lane, they will head out on the road to face off against Eastchester at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Eastchester will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
