The Latin Romans will take on Chicago Hope Academy at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Latin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Wednesday. They blew past Lisle 17-4. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Romans.

  Karim Patterson and  Liam Calvert did most of the damage at the plate:  Patterson  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and three  runs, while  Calvert  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  home run, five  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  five  RBI gave  Calvert a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Gavin Addison, who  went 1-for-3 with three  runs and two  RBI.
Meanwhile, while Chicago Hope Academy put up plenty of  runs on Saturday, the same  can't be said for Farragut. Chicago Hope Academy put the hurt on Farragut with a sharp  14-0 victory.
 Roberto Rey Jr. and  Cesar Marquez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Rey Jr.   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Meanwhile,  Marquez   pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Rey Jr. has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in eight consecutive appearances. At the plate,  Rey Jr.  went 1-for-3 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI, while  Marquez  went a perfect 2-for-2 with four  RBI, two  doubles,  and one  run.
 In other batting news,  Eric Delgado was  excellent,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with two  doubles, two  RBI,  and one  run. Another player making a difference was  Taiga Deloney, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double.
 Chicago Hope Academy  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in four consecutive  contests.
 Chicago Hope Academy's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 24-12. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Latin, their record now sits at 15-4.
