The Woodcreek Timberwolves will challenge the Whitney Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Woodcreek is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Lodi a 9-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Timberwolves sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Maryn Macneil made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, Chloe Preuss was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Camryn Kelley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
Woodcreek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Whitney made easy work of Granite Bay on Friday and carried off an 11-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won six in a row.
Whitney also got a great performance from Taylor Cordell as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Emma Rabe was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Steele, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
Woodcreek pushed their record up to 23-5 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Whitney, their record now sits at 21-9.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Woodcreek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. However, it's not like Whitney struggles in that department as they've averaged .321. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
