The Christ's Church Academy Eagles will head out to take on the Wolfson Wolfpack at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Christ's Church Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Parsons Christian Academy on Thursday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Lions. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Madison Rutherford made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Christ's Church Academy let Carlye Phillips and Kylie Breedlove run wild. Phillips went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Breedlove went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave Phillips a new career-high. Rachel Samaniego was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Christ's Church Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are 8-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wolfson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Englewood a 17-0 shutout on Thursday. The Wolfpack haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Madison Saling made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Saling was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Isabel Nieves and Emerson Mercer did most of the damage at the plate: Nieves went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Mercer went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Addison Booher also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Christ's Church Academy pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.6 runs over those games. As for Wolfson, their record is now 13-5.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Christ's Church Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .510. However, it's not like Wolfson struggles in that department as they've averaged .535. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Christ's Church Academy might still be hurting after the 17-1 loss they got from Wolfson in their previous matchup back in February. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
