Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brookfield Academy). They were the clear victors by a 23-0 margin over the Shorewood Greyhounds on Wednesday. The Blue Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by eight runs or more this season.
Julia Van Bogart was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Brookfield Academy got a massive performance out of Leora Schmidt, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. That's the most runs Schmidt has posted since back in April. Olivia Schmidt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Brookfield Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Looking ahead, Brookfield Academy will host Luther Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Phoenix will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Blue Knights surely won't give up without a fight. Shorewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
