On Friday, Our Lady of the Elms didn't have too much trouble with Medina Christian Academy on the road as they won 45-27. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Our Lady of the Elms.
Our Lady of the Elms got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Palmer Hampton out in front who scored eight points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Hampton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Pilar Hampton, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Medina Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Ashley Conwill scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Lydia Dorman, who scored two points along with seven blocks.
The win got Our Lady of the Elms back to even at 6-6. As for Medina Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Our Lady of the Elms will head out on the road to challenge Mentor Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Medina Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Horizon Science Academy at 3:00 p.m. on January 27th.
