Leake County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Newton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Leake County Gators were the clear victor by a 21-9 margin over the Newton Tigers on Monday. That's two games straight that the Gators have won by exactly 12 runs.

Leake County got a massive performance out of Donovan Leflore, who went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, five RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Davion Townsend, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

The win made it two in a row for Leake County and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12 runs. As for Newton, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leake County will face off against Mount Olive at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Leake County is facing Mount Olive at the right time seeing as Mount Olive is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Newton, they will take on Leake Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
