The Northern Heights Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Chase County Bulldogs on Tuesday. Northern Heights comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Friday, Northern Heights came up short against Council Grove and fell 61-48. Northern Heights has not had much luck with Council Grove recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Chase County was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 53-52 to West Franklin. While losing is never fun, Chase County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while West Franklin is ranked 17th).
Northern Heights bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Chase County, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2.
Northern Heights lost to Chase County on the road by a decisive 67-49 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Northern Heights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
