D'Evelyn and Forge Christian are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The two teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully D'Evelyn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday.
D'Evelyn pushed their score all the way to 61, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-61 to DSST: Montview. While losing is never fun, D'Evelyn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while DSST: Montview is ranked 20th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Taj Kumar, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. The match was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Robby Ziemian, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, after a string of 13 wins dating back to last season, Forge Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Aspen.
D'Evelyn's record is now 3-5. Forge Christian's record now sits at 3-1.
D'Evelyn might still be hurting after the 54-31 defeat they got from Forge Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can D'Evelyn avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
