Campbell County and Thunder Basin are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Campbell County Camels will be playing at home against the Thunder Basin Bolts at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Campbell County's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Thunder Basin has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Campbell County is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wyoming's top teams: Sheridan, who was ranked eighth at the time (Campbell County was ranked 11th). Campbell County took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sheridan on Friday.

Lauren Kuhbacher put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 16 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaylie Neary, who had 12 points.
Even though they lost, Campbell County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Thunder Basin played a tough match last Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against East, falling 56-32. The Bolts were down 43-22 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Campbell County will need to focus on slowing down Taylee Cundy, one of several Thunder Basin players who made an impact when they last played. She scored seven points. Bailey Rouse was another key player, putting up 15 points and seven boards.
Campbell County's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Thunder Basin, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Campbell County has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Thunder Basin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Campbell County was able to grind out a solid win over Thunder Basin in their previous meeting back in January, winning 48-39. Does Campbell County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Thunder Basin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
