Rosemead and Marshall are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2019, but not for long. The Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Rosemead beat Arroyo 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.
Rosemead had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-13.

Rosemead's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyssa Huyhn, who had 30 digs and three assists. Huyhn is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Viviana Tu, who had 15 assists and 12 digs.
Rosemead was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.
Gabrielino typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Marshall proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Gabrielino 3-2.
Marshall took Gabrielino into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 19-25, 22-25, 25-18, 15-13.
Rosemead better focus on containing Harlem Castro and Livsey Teems as the pair were huge in Marshall's win. Castro had 14 digs and one assist, while Teems had 15 digs, eight kills, and six aces. Those six aces gave Teems a new career-high.
Rosemead's record is now 6-10. As for Marshall, their record now sits at 17-4.
Rosemead couldn't quite get it done against Marshall in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
