The Lamar Warriors had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They claimed a resounding 65-29 win over Baptist Prep at home. The result was nothing new for Lamar, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Leading Lamar to victory were Ben Noonan and Caleb Green. Noonan dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Green scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. The contest was Noonan's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Miller, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
The win got Lamar back to even at 6-6. As for Baptist Prep, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lamar will challenge Jasper at 7:00 a.m. on Monday. Jasper knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Lamar likes a good challenge. As for Baptist Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against White County Central at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. White County Central is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
