The Coolidge Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Coolidge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Coolidge beat Payson 48-36.
Coolidge found their leader in underclassman Alaysia White, who dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 steals. The match was White's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Naylissa Charles was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Blue Ridge faced St. Johns in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Blue Ridge secured a 49-43 W over St. Johns on Friday. The win was just business as usual for Blue Ridge, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
Pueblo's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Coolidge's defeat dropped theirs to 5-3.
Coolidge strolled past Blue Ridge in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 by a score of 47-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coolidge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
