The Homer Trojans were the 49-35 winner over the Concord Yellowjackets when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Homer received a tough blow on Wednesday as they fell 63-49 to Concord. Homer has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Concord to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cieara Barrett, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Barrett has scored at least 25% of Concord's points. Grace Thorrez was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Homer bumped their record down to 3-4 with that loss, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. As for Concord, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Homer will be playing in front of their home fans against Michigan Center at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Michigan Center knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Homer likes a good challenge. As for Concord, they will head out on the road to face off against Bronson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bronson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Concord in Michigan (Bronson is ranked 149th, while Concord is ranked 344th).
