The Eastside Lions entered their tilt with the Palmdale Falcons with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Eastside snuck past Palmdale with a 57-53 win on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Eastside also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Eastside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keyron Scott, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Malachi Garvin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Palmdale lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jamari Owens. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points. That was a full 39.6% of Palmdale's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Eastside's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-15. As for Palmdale, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastside won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Santa Paula at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Santa Paula presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eastside in California (Santa Paula is ranked 420th, while Eastside is ranked 888th). As for Palmdale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Palmdale Academy Charter School at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
