Yorktown is on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Somers is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Yorktown Huskers will take on the Somers Tuskers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Yorktown was fully in charge, breezing past Brewster 37-6 on the road. Given Yorktown's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Brewster is ranked 158th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Somers blew past John Jay, posting a 38-3 victory on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-0.
Their wins bumped Yorktown to 7-0 and Somers to 6-1.
Yorktown was taken down by Somers 35-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2021. Thankfully for Yorktown, Ravi Dass jr (who rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 64 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
