The Enka Jets lost against the Asheville Cougars back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Enka was beaten by Asheville 46-9. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Enka in their matchups with Asheville: they've now lost nine in a row.
Asheville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nic Williams led the charge by rushing for 78 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Asheville also got help from Jeremiah Jones who showed off his sure hands for 99 receiving yards.
Enka's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.3 points per game. As for Asheville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-5.
Enka does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Asheville will head out on the road to face off against Hough at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hough is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
