The Clint Lions fell victim to the Monahans Loboes''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 40-0 loss at the hands of the Loboes. While losing is never fun, Clint can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 897th, while Monahans is ranked 175th).
Clint's defeat was their fourth straight at home , which bumped their record down to 4-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 Fort Stockton and 8-2 Bel Air (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 80% over those games). As for Monahans, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Clint will square off against West Plains at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Plains knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Clint likes a good challenge. As for Monahans, they will take on Borger at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
