On Friday, the Westlake Thunder faced the Pleasant Grove Vikings in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Westlake came out on top against Pleasant Grove by a score of 48-39. That's another feather in the cap for Westlake, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Austyn Feller was her usual excellent self, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Chloe Jensen, who scored ten points.
Westlake is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Pleasant Grove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westlake will face off against American Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. American Fork will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Pleasant Grove, they will head out on the road to take on Skyridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Skyridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
