Hoke County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Seventy-First Falcons with a sharp 9-0 win. The Bucks haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Owen Autry made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
In other batting news, Jayden Hollingsworth was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacob Williams, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoke County will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Jack Britt at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Seventy-First, they will challenge Westover at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
