The Berne Union Rockets will challenge the Millersport Lakers at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Berne Union is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.7 runs per game this season.

Meanwhile, Millersport entered their tilt with Bishop Rosecrans on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Bishops 14-3. The result was nothing new for the Lakers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Kendyl Bonkowski made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Blevins, who scored four runs and stole seven bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those seven stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Emma Raver was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Millersport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .575 or higher in three consecutive matches.
This is the second loss in a row for Berne Union and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for Millersport, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Berne Union has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Millersport struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
