Meade extended the longest winning streak in Hi-Plains this week by beating Sublette, 57-13. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Elkhart's dynamic duo of Alex Gomez and Jordan Forbit proved tough for Syracuse to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gomez threw for 506 yards and eight touchdowns and Forbit had 169 yards receiving. Justin Hurn helped Elkhart's passing attack out by catching six balls for 162 yards.
Kevin Dasenbrock was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 133 yards on six carries as Lakin defeated the Bulldogs. Teammate Gage McAtee added to the ground attack by rushing for 131 yards.
Elkhart's Gomez and Forbit have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Gomez has thrown for 2048 yards this season, while Forbit, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 40 catches for 760 yards. Cimarron's Ty Clark leads the league in rushing yards with 1317.
McAtee has rushed for 925 yards on 121 carries so far this year.
The Broncs made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,297 from 8,523. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 65-0 victory over Southwestern Heights last week.
