The Valley Lutheran Flames's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, falling 38-0. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Valley Lutheran in their matchups with Scottsdale Preparatory Academy: they've now lost six in a row.
Anias Macias threw for 49 yards on four of eight attempts. Xavier Espinoza was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards. On the ground, Jason Stanfield rushed for 100 yards.
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy was led to victory by Alex Dobos and Judah Mizysak. Dobos gained 125 total yards and a touchdown, while Mizysak punched in two rushing scores. Dobos was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards.
Valley Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Valley Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy will head out on the road to face off against Arizona Lutheran Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arizona Lutheran Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
