The St. Mary's Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Arcadia 69-54. That's another feather in the cap for St. Mary's, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
St. Mary's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alondra Reyes, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Sierras, who scored 21 points.
Despite the loss, Arcadia still got an impressive performance from Tianna Knighton, who dropped a double-double on 44 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 81.5% of Arcadia's points, marking the 19th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Hope Kouadio was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Arcadia struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as St. Mary's racked up nine assists.
St. Mary's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Arcadia, they dropped their record down to 6-17 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
