Basketball Recap: Hendersonville Piles Up the Points Against Brevard

Hendersonville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Brevard Blue Devils 67-18. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Hendersonville found their leader in sophomore Addison Reid, who posted 21 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Reid a new career-high in points. Samiyah Smith was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Hendersonville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Hendersonville's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Brevard, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-14.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bearcats take on the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hendersonville is facing Patton at the right time seeing as Patton is stuck on a six-game losing streak. Brevard has already played their next contest (against T.C. Roberson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
