Bothell and North Creek are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Cougars will host the Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Bothell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Bothell took on Mount Si on Saturday. The Cougars walked away with a 12-7 win over the Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.
Addison Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Johna Bellecourt and Hadley Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Bellecourt got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Smith went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kirsten Mahlen, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, North Creek never let their opponents score on Friday. They came out on top against Mount Si by a score of 5-0.
Reagan Fleming was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Fleming was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, North Creek let Paige Geller and Grace Pinder run wild. Geller went 2-for-3 with one home run, while Pinder went 1-for-3 with one home run.
North Creek lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their home run total in three consecutive games.
North Creek's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Bothell, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bothell has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. However, it's not like North Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .451. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bothell came up short against North Creek when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 5-2. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
