For the second straight game, Quincy will face off against Rock Island. The Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rocks  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
Quincy proved they can win big  on Saturday (they won by nine) and  on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Rock Island  8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Blue Devils have posted  since May 18, 2024.
 Drake Gibson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He  struck out eight batters over  5.2 innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   ten  hits. Gibson was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run and one  double. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in March.

 In other batting news,  Mason Ritter was  incredible,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those  three  hits gave  him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mason Dent, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 Quincy  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 13  hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  hit total in three consecutive  games.
 This is the second loss in a row for Rock Island and  nudges their season record down to 5-7. As for Quincy, their  victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-10.
