Fairfield is 2-8 against Bethel since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Falcons will host the Jaguars at 3:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Fairfield took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed two weeks ago. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Florin a 25-0 shutout. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 20 runs or more this season.

Karli Robinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI.
In other batting news, Fairfield got a massive performance out of Kaya Lanzon, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That home run was Lanzon's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Claudia Lucero, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Fairfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bethel). Everything went their way against Richmond on Monday as they made off with a 35-7 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Jaguars as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Saniyah Gray was a standout: she scored four runs and stole seven bases while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. Those seven stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Lily Fjellman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and four runs.
Fairfield's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Bethel, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6-1 and their overall record up to 2-12-1.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Fairfield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .491. However, it's not like Bethel struggles in that department as they've averaged .621. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Fairfield's way against Bethel in their previous matchup back in March, as Fairfield made off with a 23-1 win. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
