Chattahoochee is 2-8 against Johns Creek since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Chattahoochee Cougars' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Johns Creek Gladiators at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th. Hopefully Chattahoochee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Chattahoochee took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 50-15 win over Kennesaw Mountain. Given Chattahoochee's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Kennesaw Mountain is ranked 443rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chattahoochee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Riley Berninger, who scored 16 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Berninger has scored at least 25% of Chattahoochee's points. Another player making a difference was Brooklinne Dorr, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Johns Creek, who are still winless after their eighth game. They took a 45-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Roswell.
Chattahoochee's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Johns Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Chattahoochee beat Johns Creek 43-34 in their previous matchup back in November. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chattahoochee since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
