The Cabrini Crescents won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They were dealt a 46-19 loss at the hands of Carver Collegiate Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cabrini has scored all season.
Carver Collegiate Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Roniya Richardson, who scored 12 points. Akeelah Bovie was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Cabrini has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Carver Collegiate Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cabrini is on the road again on Saturday and plays the Chipmunks at 11:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Archbishop Chapelle presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Crescents in Louisiana (the Chipmunks are ranked 45th, while the Crescents are ranked 240th). As for Carver Collegiate Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against the Cubs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
