Softball Recap: Ashford Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

While Ashford didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-24), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victor by a 17-1 margin over the New Brockton Gamecocks on Monday. Considering the Yellowjackets have won four matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Ashford's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for New Brockton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Ashford wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Dale County on the 4th. As for New Brockton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-0 loss against Geneva on the 4th.
