The Sandpoint Bulldogs won against the Lewiston Bengals on Thursday with 58 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Sandpoint strolled past Lewiston with points to spare, taking the game 58-42. Given Sandpoint's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Lewiston is ranked 78th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sandpoint got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordyn Tomco out in front who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliya Strock, who scored 20 points.
Sandpoint pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lewiston, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Sandpoint will be home for the holidays to greet Kellogg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Kellogg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Saturday. As for Lewiston, they will head out on the road to face off against Timberlake at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
