Windham hasn't had much luck against Pymatuning Valley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bombers will challenge the Lakers at 5:00 p.m.
Last Wednesday, Windham didn't have quite enough to beat Bloomfield and fell 5-4.
Breille Jones and Skylar Bailey stepped up to the plate in a big way. Jones went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Bailey went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that Bailey hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexandria Hudak, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Pymatuning Valley put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Badger with a sharp 10-4 win. Fans of the Lakers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Hannah Young spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Allison Clark was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aislyn Fuller, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three runs.
Pymatuning Valley's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Windham, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Windham has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .465. However, it's not like Pymatuning Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .655. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Windham might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Pymatuning Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Bombers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
