A.L. Brown has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Mooresville Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, A.L. Brown strolled past South Iredell with points to spare, taking the game 28-14.
A.L. Brown got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was CJ Gray out in front who threw for 141 yards and two touchdowns. Derick Brazil also helped out with an impressive 111 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Mooresville put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past West Cabarrus 42-3 on the road. With Mooresville ahead 28-3 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Mooresville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Randy Fulmore, who picked up 181 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Brody Norman, who threw for 282 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes.
A.L. Brown's win on Friday bumped their record up to 4-4. As for Mooresville, their win was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-0.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: A.L. Brown has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 176.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Mooresville struggles in that department as they've been even better at 188.2 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
A.L. Brown and Mooresville were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in October of 2022, but A.L. Brown came up empty-handed after a 27-26 loss. Can A.L. Brown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
