It was a good run, but the Cane Bay Cobras unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 74-62 to West Ashley. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Cane Bay's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jarvis Roper, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds. The contest was Roper's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Smalls, who scored 15 points.
Cane Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for West Ashley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cane Bay will square off against Pinewood Prep at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pinewood Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Cane Bay likes a good challenge. As for West Ashley, they will head out on the road to face off against Berkeley at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Berkeley will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
