Northridge gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ogden Tigers, sneaking past 8-6. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Aubrey Solomon made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Cassidy Green was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Madisyn Lecour, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Northridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ogden only posted an OBP of .417.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northridge will take on Clearfield at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Clearfield has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Ogden, they will challenge Skyline at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
