Jackson is 4-0 against Satsuma since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Jackson Aggies on the road again and play against the Satsuma Gators at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Jackson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Jackson beat Escambia County 48-44. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Jackson has scored all season.
Jackson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keeyun Chapman, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Chapman continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Caster, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Satsuma's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight loss. They suffered a tough 56-32 loss at the hands of T.R. Miller. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Satsuma has suffered since December 28, 2023.
Jackson's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-2. As for Satsuma, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-18.
Everything came up roses for Jackson against Satsuma when the teams last played last Friday as the squad secured a 87-41 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jackson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
