The Homer Knights lost against the Winside Wildcats back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The contest between Homer and Winside wasn't particularly close, with Homer falling 51-32.
Winside's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaden Hunt, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Schutt, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Homer's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Winside, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
Homer's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hartington-Newcastle at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. Hopefully Hartington-Newcastle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday. As for Winside, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Stanton. Stanton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
