The Paint Valley Bearcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 14th straight defeat. They fell just short of Westfall by a score of 45-43. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Paint Valley of the 49-43 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Several Bearcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kylea Spangler, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Stauffer, who scored 14 points.
Paint Valley dropped their record down to 2-17 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Westfall, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-16.
Paint Valley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Westfall, they will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
