Baseball Recap: Sterling Heights Gets the Win

19 must be Sterling Heights's lucky number: they beat Eastpointe with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Stallions didn't even let the Shamrocks on the board, marking the Stallions' second-straight 19-0 shutout. The Stallions haven't had any issues with the Shamrocks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Hunter McDonald made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 6.2 strikeouts per game. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. McDonald is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Paul Britt was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mark Ljudjuraj, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Sterling Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .828. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .571 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
