The Mt. Diablo Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Liberty, falling 92-25. Mt. Diablo lost against Liberty in their previous head to head back in April of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 81-76 score last time.
Despite the loss, Mt. Diablo still got an impressive performance from Willy Jones, who scored 7 points along with 5 blocks. Jones scored a full 28% of Mt. Diablo's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Malik Benson , who scored 7 points.
Mt. Diablo bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Liberty, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Mt. Diablo's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lincoln at 3:30 p.m. on December 8th. As for Liberty, they will face off against Sierra at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
