The Whitehall Railroaders were the 61-55 winner over the Warrensburg Burgers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Whitehall took a hard 62-46 fall against Warrensburg on Friday.
Warrensburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Steve Schloss led the charge by dropping a double-double on 29 points and 13 rebounds. Schloss hasn't dropped below 15 points for 13 straight games. Another player making a difference was Brady Cheney, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Whitehall's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Warrensburg, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Whitehall will take on Poultney at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Poultney knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Whitehall likes a good challenge. As for Warrensburg, they will head out on the road to challenge Granville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Granville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
