The Northridge Raiders waltzed into Saturday's matchup with five straight wins but they left with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Carroll 72-40 at home.
Northridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rielyn Goodwin led the charge by scoring 11 points along with 9 assists and 7 rebounds. Goodwin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last five games she's played. Lily Scholl was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
When it comes to explaining why Carroll lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alli Harness. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points.
Northridge has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 7-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-1.
Northridge will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Westview at 7:45 p.m. Westview is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Carroll, they will head out on the road to face off against Western at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Western's defense has only allowed 25.3 points per game this season, so Carroll's offense will have their work cut out for Carroll.
