Even though the Colton-Pierrepont Colts have not done well against the St. Lawrence Central Larries recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Colton-Pierrepont came out on top against the Larries by a score of 57-47. The win made it back-to-back wins for Colton-Pierrepont.
Colton-Pierrepont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eric Friedel led the charge by scoring 24 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Friedel is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ty Farns, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite the loss, St. Lawrence Central still got an impressive performance from Ayden Beach, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 15 rebounds. That was a full 63.8% of St. Lawrence Central's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harlee Hartson, who scored four points.
Colton-Pierrepont's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for St. Lawrence Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.
Colton-Pierrepont will head out on the road to take on the Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Lawrence Central, they will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Parishville-Hopkinton comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
