Sheets Memorial Christian came into Thursday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past Mount Calvary Christian with a 49-44 win on Thursday.
Sheets Memorial Christian found their leader in underclassman Finn Everhart, who scored 21 points along with eight steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jude Howell, who scored five points along with ten steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Greater Vision Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of Winston-Salem Christian by a score of 82-79. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Greater Vision Academy had strong showings from Johntez Raspberry, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds, and Titus Tucker, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Raspberry has scored all season. Greysen McCadden was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds.
Sheets Memorial Christian's win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-17. As for Greater Vision Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Sheets Memorial Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Greater Vision Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27 rebounds per game.
