Milford Christian couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 24-23 to Hillsboro Christian Academy. Milford Christian lost against Hillsboro Christian Academy in their previous head to head back in February of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 41-23 score last time.
Hillsboro Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lisa Vanzant, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Korte, who scored 2 points along with 17 rebounds.
Milford Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Hillsboro Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Milford Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hillsboro Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Hillsboro Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for they, they will face off against Ross County Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
