After three games on the road, Poudre is heading back home. They will take on the Legacy Lightning at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Poudre focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday.
A well-balanced attack led Poudre over the Mustangs in every quarter on their way to victory. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Poudre blew the Mustangs out of the water with a 61-22 final score. Given Poudre's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Poudre relied on the efforts of Jaqueline Forrest, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals, and Kavi Voglund, who scored 12 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cameron Boeding, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Legacy was the victim of a tough 58-36 loss at the hands of the SaberCats on Saturday. Legacy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Poudre has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Legacy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.
Poudre came up short against the Lightning in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 48-35. Will Poudre have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
