Two dominant signal callers in Dylan Raiola and Jeff Davis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Buford Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Grayson Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Buford sitting on five straight wins and Grayson on six.
With a playoff game on the line, Buford rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Blue Devils and snuck past 28-25.
Buford had a senior duo take command as Kj Bolden picked up 76 receiving yards and three touchdowns and Raiola threw for 174 yards and four touchdowns. Raiola is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played.
Meanwhile, Grayson can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They put the hurt on North Paulding with a sharp 42-18 win. Given Grayson's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while North Paulding is ranked 40th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grayson can attribute much of their success to Amari Alston, who rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and Davis, who threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes. Alex Sanchez did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 91 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Buford to 11-1 and Norcross to 9-3.
