Softball Recap: Fair Grove Has No Trouble Against Ava

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fair Grove). They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Ava Bears on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Aubrie Voorhis made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and not a single walk). Voorhis was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Brooke Daniels was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-5. Addyson Nunley was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Fair Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ava only posted an OBP of .259.

The win got Fair Grove back to even at 2-2. As for Ava, their record now sits at 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. As for Ava, they will venture away from home to take on Licking at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
