Georgetown Visitation Prep hasn't had much luck against Potomac School recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cubs will challenge the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Georgetown Visitation Prep sitting on three straight wins and Potomac School on four.
Georgetown Visitation Prep came out on top against Holton-Arms on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Cubs beat Holton-Arms by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-4. Surprisingly, this marked the Cubs' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Sami Farmer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ainsley Kovarik, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlin O'Connor, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Potomac School). Their pitcher stepped up to hand St. Andrew's Episcopal a 19-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by ten runs or more this season.
Catherine Stallmer made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Stallmer was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Anna Castellano was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Lily Anderson also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Potomac School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .893. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Potomac School's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Georgetown Visitation Prep, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Georgetown Visitation Prep suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Potomac School when the teams last played back in April. Can the Cubs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
